Infection control procedures are done as if we are the next person to receive dental care.  We take extensive preventative measures with every patient to prevent the transmission of the viruses that cause infectious diseases.  We meet or exceed all government guidelines in protecting you and your family members in this office.  This includes:

• flushing out water lines before each patient
• wearing gloves, masks and protective eyewear
• washing hands before and after each treatment
• changing gloves after each patient
• U of D monitoring of sterilization equipment effectiveness
• sterilizing dental instruments and hand pieces after each use
• cleaning and disinfecting the surfaces in the treatment room and equipment room after each patient
• disposing of needles and other sharp items in special containers
• disposing of waste items and contaminated material properly

Many of these precautions are obvious to you during your visit.  Other precautions are performed prior to your visit.
